About the Role
We are seeking a Junior/Trainee Estimator to support our team in preparing accurate and competitive estimates for projects ranging from small repairs to large-scale restoration works. This is a fantastic opportunity to build your career in a niche and rewarding sector of the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting senior estimators in the preparation of tenders and cost estimates
- Reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, and other tender documents
- Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations
- Helping to measure quantities and prepare bills of quantities
- Supporting the preparation of bid submissions and tender documents
- Learning to use estimating software and company systems
What We’re Looking For
- A genuine interest in historic buildings and traditional construction methods
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Good attention to detail and organisational ability
- Confident communicator, both written and verbal
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel in particular)
- Either a relevant construction-related qualification (desirable, not essential) or a strong willingness to learn and develop in the role
