About the Role

We are seeking a Junior/Trainee Estimator to support our team in preparing accurate and competitive estimates for projects ranging from small repairs to large-scale restoration works. This is a fantastic opportunity to build your career in a niche and rewarding sector of the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting senior estimators in the preparation of tenders and cost estimates
  • Reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, and other tender documents
  • Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations
  • Helping to measure quantities and prepare bills of quantities
  • Supporting the preparation of bid submissions and tender documents
  • Learning to use estimating software and company systems

What We’re Looking For

  • A genuine interest in historic buildings and traditional construction methods
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Good attention to detail and organisational ability
  • Confident communicator, both written and verbal
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel in particular)
  • Either a relevant construction-related qualification (desirable, not essential) or a strong willingness to learn and develop in the role
