We’re proud to share that the Flaxmill Maltings restoration project, a cornerstone of industrial heritage, has received multiple prestigious awards for excellence in conservation and craftsmanship.
This landmark project, often referred to as the world’s first iron-framed building, was restored with meticulous attention to historic detail, ensuring both structural integrity and authenticity. Our team contributed specialist conservation works throughout the project, including masonry repairs, lime pointing, and timber restoration, helping breathe new life into this iconic structure.
Among the accolades, the project has received recognition from:
RIBA Awards 2025 – Regional Winner
Civic Trust Awards – Conservation Award
Constructing Excellence – Project of the Year
These awards are a testament to the collaborative effort between skilled craftspeople, architects, heritage consultants, and conservation bodies — and we’re honoured to have played a role in preserving such a significant piece of history.
Congratulations to everyone involved in this extraordinary achievement.
